The Sassy Style Team is a family of like-minded therapists and hairdressers that share Monique’s vision of being "The Salon, where you can spoil yourself" and where every customer is treated with a warm welcome into the Sassy Family.

We achieve this by employing skilled professionals in aesthetics, beauty, nails and hair and further enhance our services with state of the art equipment and high quality beauty and hair products.

So what does "Sassy" mean?

“It means someone fearless, bold, confident, clever, lively, spirited, and a little feisty or cheeky.” We are women and Sassy about Beauty!

Monique Bouwer & Sassy Style

Monique Bouwer is a businesswoman and a loving wife and mother. 

The whole family shares in Monique’s passion for beauty and of cause deep sea diving. Believe it or not, Monique scuba dives with sharks….without the cage.  Fearless!

As a fearless woman, Monique started her first beauty salon, M & M Monroe’s, in November 2015 in Brentwood Park.  The business thrived for four years, but Monique quickly saw that beauty and nails had to be complemented by aesthetics and hair to ensure the survival of her salon.

Thus, in November 2019, M & M Monroe’s was rebranded as Sassy Style and re-opened in the East Fields Shopping Centre in Rynfield Benoni.  Sassy Style is all about Aesthetics, Beauty, Hair and Nails.

Growth Strategy

Monique is optimistic about the future. Covid had a significant impact on the beauty industry during 2020 and 2021, and many salons closed down or had to scale back operations.  Sassy Style opened just before Covid struck, and we felt the impact, however we have adapted and are now stronger than before.

We now have 12 employees in our Sassy Family:

• Two Receptionists,
• Two Hairdressers & Two Operators, and
• Six Beauty Therapists / Nail Technicians

Loyalty and giving back

At Sassy Style we strive to give back to the people who served us for many years.  Our pensioners receive a 15% discount not only on Wednesdays, but  every Sunday to Wednesday!  Teachers also receive a 10% discount on the same days. 

Our loyalty point system allows our customers to use their points to purchase services based on a tiered loyalty point system.

Strategic Partnerships

Monique realised early in life that strategic partnerships are necessary to survive in the tough economic climate of South Africa.  “HANNON was the first South African brand that we took on board as a retail and wholesale product.”  We are proud to be associate with the Hannon brand on SkinCare, HairCare and Make-up products.

At Sassy Style, we cater for the whole family: grandma, grandpa, mom, dad and the children.
